I invite my piano students on a personal, intuitive, and creative journey with an approach that fosters connection to their own hearts and the world around them through the practice of music.  Those who attend individual weekly lessons held online or in person at my "Alpine Acoustics" Piano Studio learn improvisation practices, music theory, embodied technique, skills to play music with others, and repertoire through the lens of both classical and popular composers. 

​It’s my delight to deliver a well-rounded education that equips students to arrive at the piano with curiosity, courage, and freedom.

• Bachelor of Arts in Piano Pedagogy, Whitworth University, 2012
• Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) in Piano
• Member of Washington State Music Teachers Association
• Member of Snohomish County Music Teachers Association and Edmonds Music Teachers Association

Teaching Experience:

• 15 years teaching experience as an active member of Washington State Music Teachers Association.
• Currently teaches a full studio of piano, music theory, and composition students.
• Tutor for collegiate students studying music theory and ear training.
• Washington State Music Teachers Chair of National Certification for teachers pursuing their NCTM.

The Musical Mountaineers:  Rose Freeman & Anastasia Allison

• Rose Freeman (piano) and Anastasia Allison (violin) are both classically trained musicians 🎹🎻
• They met through a serendipitous series of events and carried their instruments into the wilderness for their first unannounced sunrise serenade on September 1, 2017.  You can see the video from that day here!
• Together, they have performed over 50 concerts with a violin and 76-key Yamaha keyboard to create beautiful music at sunrise and inspire others to ask the question, "what is my music on the mountain?"
